Turning a knob a millimeter isn't going do anything to the sound. Unless there some serious bass in tune you shouldn't need to touch the knobs at all. Deejays existed for nearly 30 years before gain and EQ became standard on mixers. Any decent deejay should be able to rock without touching a EQ knob.
