I was originally working on a Dr. Dre mix but I got annoyed with how "clean" the mix was sounding so I abandoned the mix. Being annoyed with how clean the Dre mix was sounding and the general "cleaness" of musical sound these day, I went diggin' through my record collection to find records that would constitute a more raw, authentic sound. The frustrating thing about going through a record collection is that there is very little music that you can't find online through a few google searches. Even though the rarest of rare records can be found online these days, I decided to stick with records that I originally discovered only by buying white labels and looking on the b-side of better known 12" records. I'm sure you can find most (if not all of these joints online, but a lot of the music used on this mix is lost somewhere in the online abyss. I've got to say that it was a lot of fun going through and finding all of these joints in my collection because many of these records were bought on just a hunch (especially the bootlegs). I've also got to add that for every quality bootleg that made this mix there's at least 3-4 wack bootlegs that I regret buying. I guess that's the fun and not so fun part of diggin' for records. Rhettmatic, J. Rocc, Babu, Mr. Choc, Shortkut, and Melo-D perform a live, freestyle set demonstrating a mixer I'll never own unless it falls of a truck and onto my lap. As dope as that mixer is, it's kind of hard justifying paying that kind of money for a mixer with a baby girl that's going to need somebody to pay for college some day. On a unrelated related side note, you can read some people making some pretty critical comments on the youtube page. Clearly, some people don't understand the concept of a "freestyle" set.

Kikkoman has got to be one of the more prolific mixtape contributors on the web that I've come across in the last few. A very highly quality live mix for your listening pleasure.

A live mix of some ill ass beats by some of my favorite beatsmiths… I put on a monthly party of the same name and this is some typical music of what you might hear (among other woofer blowing tunes). This mix is a little rough around the edges but the tracks themselves are a little rough around the edges so it works enough. I’m happy with it for now… Just hit record and go, chose records on the fly… Maybe I’ll go back and clean it up but that would take a long time so… C’est la vie…

Black Star - Definition/Re:Definition Live

The blog usually restricts video posts to clips about crate diggin', deejay performances, interviews, home studios, and beat making. In other words, MC's don't normally get much video love on this blog. This video is the exception because I think the video is a wonderful example of how much actual talent adds to a performance. All the intangibles that Mos Def possesses add so much to this live Black Star performance. Rarely do MC's sound better live than on record. I'll take audio of this performance over the LP version any day. All this coming from someone who has seen Black Star live multiple times (none of the performances as impressive as this video clip).

I usually spend the holidays in the Northwest, where I grew up and where I first started hitting the crates heavily. Back in the mid-to-late 90s, me and Alex Stange, fellow beat-digging fanatic and high school friend, would make regular trips to a growing chain of Portland record stores, Everyday Music, which at the time had great prices and thousands of records - especially those filed with "green tags" and costing $.50. All kinds of musical treasures would turn up in the 50-cent bins - funk, jazz, obscure 12 inches, rock, you just never knew. They were regularly re-filled, and the store stayed open until midnight every night - so you could just drop by almost any time to get a little digging in.

So I invited Alex to contribute half of this mix, which I'm sending out from southeast Portland before heading back to New York. The 50-cent bins are still here, though not quite as fruitful as they used to be, but still fun to paw through on my trips home. It's essential digging - getting your self-education on the classics of soul, rock and pop music for cheap, and realizing that you should never pay more than a dollar for certain records if you're in these crates long enough.

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Mix - Mixed by DJ Act Like You Know

You come to this blog to hear Highly Recommended mixes like this one that will get shine nowhere else (first). Description and tracklist of mix after the jump.

Basically, I'm a child of 90's hip-hop. I always have been and always will be. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of dope hip-hop on the market today (mainstream and underground), but to me, the eight-year period spanning from 1990 - 1998 was a hip-hop Renaissance that will probably never be duplicated. And DJ Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia (AKA Cool Bob Love, AKA DJ Cucumber Slice, AKA the ten thousand other nicknames this dude has) were probably two of the most influential people in the game at that time. I'm not gonna go into a long history regarding their show on WKCR, but from 1990 - 1998, during the hours of 1-5 AM every Thursday night / Friday morning, these two, for lack of a better term, "smashed the airwaves" of the New York metropolitan area. Their show was responsible for launching the careers of Nas, Mobb Deep, Big L, Jay-Z, Big Pun, Fat Joe, The Notorious B.I.G., A Tribe Called Quest, The Beatnuts, Black Moon, Redman, The Wu-Tang Clan, and the list goes on and on. Since I was too young during the show's heyday, I've had to feed my addiction for this show by scouring the internets for uploaded tapes from listeners from back in the day. What I did with this mix was try to showcase some of the joints that were spun on their show beginning in 1990 and ending in 1998. I compiled all the tracks to make it seem like you're listening to an actual taping of the show. All of these tracks were played on WKCR at least once (some more than others). I even threw in some of my favorite freestyles and exclusives, which were taken directly from old cassettes. I've got a ton of these old recordings, and it was really difficult to decide what to include/exclude, but hopefully, you'll get a sense of their legendary show and the evolution of classic hip-hop over a legendary eight-year period. Also, shout out to the good peoples at Philaflava.org for supplying me and the rest of the Stretch & Bob fiends with hundreds of old tapes. Turn that shit up....

Note: I let some of the freestyles run for an extended period since some of them are just too legendary to cut short.

While everybody else has been busy posting their "Best of 2011" lists, I'm just going to give you all a list of albums I bought in 2011 (along with some general thoughts). Please feel free to comment with suggestions of any quality albums that you think I should be embarrassed for not having listened to. List of albums and commentary after the jump.

There are two ways you can interpret Elzhi's masterful reinterpretation of the Nas classic. You could argue that making a classic out of reinterpreting a classic is nothing to get terribly excited about. Or, you could argue that Elzhi's ability (along with the musical wizardry of Will Sessions) to add something fresh to an album everybody has heard 100 times-over makes the Elmatic effort all that much more impressive. I opt for the view of the latter. This album easily earned the most burns in my ride in 2011. Though I downloaded the album free of charge, I did purchase the instrumental LP later on.

Though I bought this album out of a sense of obligation to support one of the greatest deejays of all time, I was very pleasantly surprised by J. Rocc's production prowess. For me, the highlights of the album are the tracks where you can truly hear J. Rocc's inner deejay with the layered samples syncopated with scratched vocals. No regrets with this purchase.

The most hyped album of 2011 certainly had its moments (New Day, Murder to Excellence, and the bonus tracks), but the album's blatant attempts to sound musically relevant cut it short of being a great work of art. Memo to Jay-Z: Wives are supposed to ruin your weekends, not your albums. Beyonce is dope in her own right, but she doesn't belong anywhere on your album. Now, you've got me rooting for a divorce. I felt dirtier that a middle-aged man at an adult bookstore buying this album, but I bought it anyway. Much like the man at the adult bookstore, I wanted a refund 5 minutes after the purchase.

Anyone who criticized this album simply hasn't heard a Madlib remix tape. I loved this album because it reminded me of the old Madlib remix tapes/LPs I would see back in the day at the record store. Easily a top 3 purchase of the year. Very pleased with my purchase.

Everything I have to say about this release I already wrote HERE. I do have one gripe about my purchase though, I BOUGHT THE FUCKING CLEAN VERSION!!!!!

Maybe I need to go back and listen to this album a few more times, but I came away from the Roots' latest effort a little disappointed. I certainly give the Roots credit for releasing a conceptual album. That is the sort of thing that just plays to my musical heart. However, it was the whole conceptual album theme that made this album all the more disappointing for me. See Prince Paul's Prince Among Thieves for how to get the conceptual album thing right. Far be it for me to criticize the Roots, but I have been underwhelmed with every release since Game Theory. Do I want my money back on this one? No. Do I wish I hadn't rushed out to buy it the day it came out? Yes. Do I need to give it a few more listens? Wouldn't hurt.

Editorial: Thoughts on Common's The Dreamer/The Believer

Only time will tell, but upon the first few listens of Common's latest release it sounds like we may have our first classic LP in a minute. Assuming The Dreamer/The Believer stands the test of time, the rapper formerly known as Sense will now have three bonafied classics and two very solid (borderline classic) LP's listed under his discography. How many other MC's can make this claim? Jay-Z? Two classics at best. Nas? Again, two classics at best.

With all the quality music under his belt, it's not the number of classics credited to Common's name that is most impressive with his latest release. Common's latest LP has allowed him to achieve what no rapper has done in ten years, deliver a new classic years removed from their first. Think about it? Since Jay-Z delivered the Blueprint in 2001, what legendary MC has delivered another undisputed classic?
We certainly haven't heard a recent classic album from greats such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, and others from the 80's era. More contemporary kings such as Jay-Z and Nas have made decent attempts (see Hip Hop is Dead, Untitled, Stillmatic for Nas, and The Black Album and American Gangster for Jay-Z) that have fallen short of classic status. Even fans of Eminem will attest that he hasn't delivered another classic since the release of Blueprint.

The significance of Jay-Z's Blueprint is that it was the last time we heard a classic album from an MC who had already delivered a classic in his career. In other words, it was the last time we heard an iconic MC rise from the ashes of mediocre, disappointing releases to deliver classic art. That is why Common's The Dreamer/The Believer should be celebrated. Common has not only found his lyrical groove with his latest album (editorial note: I don't think it's a coincidence that this occurred as he reunited with No I.D.), but he has deciphered the code that so few of our idols from the 90's have been able to figure out. For once a legendary MC found a way to create classic rap music that sounds neither immature nor soft. Yes, that's right. It is actually possible for an MC in his 30's to produce music that sounds like it came from an MC in his 30's without sounding old, preachy, or dated. Good music is good music. Quality music transcends race, language, age, and any other barrier imaginable. Cheers to Common (and No I.D.) for reminding us all.

The Passaic, New Jersey product – who came up under the tutelage of Marley Marl working the boards at the super-producer’s House of Hits studio in the early ’90s – boasts a discography healthy with both hits and soulfully crafted cult favorites for the likes of Lords of the Underground, Tragedy, World Renown, and Ghostface Killah. And in the ominously orchestrated string stabs of “Real Live Shit,” by Real Live – his own group with rhyme partner Larry-O – K may lay claim to one of the definitive crime rhyme tracks of the ’90s. I got out of the house for the first time since Lil'Pipomixes arrived last Friday to attend Flavor's 90's Night. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were selling 90's themed mixes from both J. Rocc and DJ Spinna. J. Rocc's mix focuses on b-sides and album cuts from the 90's while Spinna's mix (it will post soon) focuses on RnB from the 90's. I think I was one of like three people who actually bought the J. Rocc and Spinna mixes being sold at the event. I don't know if all the heads there just didn't know the time, or whether they knew they'd eventually get the mixes here. In any event, here you all go. Just recently while doing some cleaning in my home studio, I found a bunch of old cassette tapes which were the aircheck tapes of the Beat Junkie Hour......This is an old recording of an episode of the Beat Junkie Hour Radio Show on KWIZ 96.7FM back in 1993/94 KWIZ was a type of station that you had to pay to play on the air, and at that time, it was $200 or $300 for an hour slot. Even though there was alot of us, we really didn't have the money to always pay for it, so we would get some sponsors to help us pay for our airtime (as you will notice with some of our "commercials". LOL!).....As you can also tell from the recording, we were pretty young, too excited to be on the airwaves, and horrible on the mic, but we were playing alot of the classic underground as well as breaking some new music from the West Coast; we were the first ones to play the Nonce, Ras Kass, and Dilated Peoples when they were known as the Fatliners. This is about the same time when the Baka Boyz first came to LA and started working at LA's Power 106.

Around this time, the crew was starting to grow, as well as starting to make a reputation in the Dj Battle circuit like DMC & the Rap Sheet Battles....also a little tidbit of information; we had 3 short-lived members in the Beat Junkies at that time: Special J, Dj Sweet Pea (now know as the producer Paul Poli, who produced such hits for the Black Eyed Peas. Christine Millian, & Ashanti), & Dj Rectangle....yes, THAT Dj Rectangle! And this is before Babu & Mr. Choc became official members of the Beat Junkies....officially, there are 13 members in the Beat Junkies.

On this particular episode, you actually get to hear Beat Junkie members that you may or may not be familiar with: Dj Curse, Tommy Gun, & Dj Sweet Pea, as well as J & myself in the mix and the mic. We also shout out other members like Shortkut, D-Styles, Melo-D, Icy Ice, Symphony, Havik, & What?! Most of the time, when you listen to the show, we mostly be cracking jokes on each other, do alot of shoutouts, try to pick up on chicks on the phone, or even hanging up on them....but you can tell we were having fun.

While transfering this from casette to Pro Tools, listening to these tapes reminded me of how young and carefree we were back then; i also cringed at how we sound on the mic (i must've said "yknow what im sayin" at least 20 times) as well as my mixes. J always kills it, even back then....boy, have times changed...LOL!!

I'll try to upload more recordings of the the show later down the line....I'm still going thru tapes and transfering onto protools. Anyways, here's a little piece of Beat Junkie History for you to experience.....enjoy!

50 Greatest Hip Hop Skits

Complex Magazine just posted a compilation of the 50 greatest hip hop skits (read here). Most of the classics are disected on this list. However, I was surprised not to see two of the more memorable skits (at least for me and my circle of friends at the time) from Biggie's Life After Death album omitted. Read which skits got omitted after the jump.
Skit #1 - No inclusion of the intro to Nasty Boy. How can you have a 50 greatest skits list and exclude Biggie discussing how he "shits on a b*tch." I remember hearing that at 17 and wondering to myself, "Really?" "Is there something I'm missing?" "Is this something I should start doing?" Amazing how influential a rap skit can be on a young, impressionable mind.

Skit #2 - No inclusion of the "I'm Gonna Kill You" skit. Can't tell you how many times I would call a friend and start mumbling in a muffled voice, "I'm gonna kill you." In which my friend would instaneosly impersonate Biggie's lazy "word" over and over again. Ahh memories. With that in mind, I was doing my daily run the other day and I overheard this late teens/early twenty-something dude (with girlfriend and baby next to him) getting into an argument over the phone. I could hear the kid yelling into the phone over and over again "I'm gonna kill you nigga." As heard this idiot repeating his threats I kept wondering if the dude on the other end of the line was repeating Biggie's "word."

Touchdown Soul #1 - Mixed by Fredfades

Fredfades is easily one of the more consistent and active break mix deejays out there. In the vein of Phil the Most Chill, Kon & Amir, and others known for their diggin' exploits, here's Fredfades with a soul-centric mix.

The long awaited soul mix. I've been waiting so long with this mix that records have been stacking up way too heavy, so I have decided to split it into two (maybe even three pieces/mixes).. Instead of throwing together all sorts of soul music, I've been trying to be a little consistent soundwise when putting together this mix. Most of the tape his headnod tempo soul killers. Mostly 45's, but a couple of LP tracks in there aswell. A couple of "dancers" aswell, but nothing heavy enough to be a part of the next soul tape I am doing (100% dancers). The next tape will also include a lot more newer soul music. Mostly modern stuff.

Not 100% satisfied with the sound on this one, due to some digital compressing I did now that my analog compressor is fucked up. Anyhew. It's a mix. You'll enjoy it..!!!

Behind Madvillainy's Cover Art with Jeff Jank

You could quite accurately declare, as folks frequently do, that designer Jeff Jank has been instrumental in expanding the expressive range of how indie hip-hop is visually represented. The longtime Art Director at the revered Stones Throw Records, Jank – via his wonderful album and single sleeve art for the likes of Madlib (and his myriad of creative incarnations, including Quasimoto and Yesterday’s New Quintet), J Dilla, Dudley Perkins, et al – has exhibited as much a talent for creatively paying homage to vintage record designs as forging indelibly original ones. Buoyed by a striking image by photographer Eric Coleman, Jeff’s album cover design for Madlib and kindred enigmatic spirit MF Doom’s classic inaugural collab, Madvillain’s Madvillany, is an essential example of one that actually beautifully bridges both categories. We recently caught up with the man known alternately as Funkaho to discuss the making of the LP and its cover – a process which entailed bartering, bong hits, a bomb shelter, and opportunities to perhaps frighten small children. We invited Swedish DJ Devastate (BBE Records) to do a mix for Wax Poetics and to celebrate the release 'OptiMace – The future is not what it used to be – part 1', a brand new 7-inch out on November 24rd 2011 with remixes by Big Mister Doom, KRSUR and Illy Symphony.

”Mellow Madness Vol 2” is a mix full of laid back music inspired by the Fremdtunes sound. The mix is compiled and mixed by DJ Devastate. Devastate is a producer/DJ from South Sweden. His jazzy instrumental debut album 'Movement/Silence' was released on BBE recordings early 2010. Devastate also released a track on labelsampler 'Fremdtunes – the series 2' and is currently working on a brand new instrumental solo album and a production album with his crew Elite Fleet.

I remember the first time I heard Brown Sugar and how I felt. That ws 95' and i still get goosebumps every time I play that record. Then came the wait for Voodoo which I didn't fall in love with as quickly but has definitely grown on me since then to the point where I almost hold both in the same regard. I hope James River sees the light of day eventually and D'angelo is back on track with all his personal drama behind him. Definitely one of the most talented artists of my generation. Two albums in 16 years is far from prolific but how do you recapture the magic which defines an era of music? It will be interesting to see if he can do it with James River.

With The Roots all up in the news for their musical intro of Michelle Bachman on the Jimmy Fallon show, I figured posting this mix would be very timely. This is the first mix I've ever posted that was inspired by yours truly. Hamza picks-up on this mix where my Roots mix left off. You can read Hamza describe the mix himself below.

The Roots is my favorite Hip Hop group of all time. It was the crew from Philly that revived my love for Hip Hop with their album "Do U Want More".

At the time in 1994 Hip Hop as culture changed greatly from the early days in the 80's. All the aspects of culture starting to go underground and separate. What was once an unified culture of the few became a separated culture of the many. Within that backdrop my attachment to the culture and music was waning but then a good friend of mine Bee255 gave me his cassette copy of DUWM by The Roots. The fusion of tight rhymes over live instrumentals struck me exactly like the first time when I heard Run DMC in early 80's. It reminded all the things I loved about the culture and the music.

Fast forward to the present I always had a idea to make a mix dedicated to The Roots and when I heard fellow DJ/blogger Pipomixes The Roots mix (link at the bottom) I knew it was the right time to finally produce a mix of my own. Instead of making a Best of mix with tunes from the group's numerous albums I decided to follow Pipo's lead and start where he left off. The mix by Pipomixes featured tunes from Do U Want More to Game Theory. This Part II features songs from Game Theory to How I Got Over.

Well there it is, my long explanation of this "The Roots Part II" until my next mix coming in December enjoy the tunes.

I thought I was the only one with a major sweet tooth. Apparently, being a deejay and having a sweet tooth goes hand in hand. Chocolate donut + a tall glass of milk + a high quality mix = the finer things in life.

To be honest, I wanted to do two things this month: play some hip-hop, and use these really funny voicemail messages I found while digging through old samples and sound files. I was able to do both, to a certain degree - I could have played more records, and I could have played more messages, but I think what came out is a decent little tape, a couple treats to vibe out to in your headphones, something a little more rugged for the hoodies-and-jeans fall weather. These are a few records that remind me of hitting classic vinyl spots ten years ago while flipping a Rob Swift mixtape over in the walkman. Hmm..that might have been a bit more than ten years ago.
Much like the dozen donuts on the cover, I tried to drop a variety of joints here, from Chicago and Seattle, Philly to the UK. First is a vintage DJ Spinna instrumental, I just love how his beats were so creative, hit you so hard with the bass lines and filters - you always knew it was Spinna. Found this the other week at The Thing, the b-side has a joint from Buckwild. Next up is High and Mighty's "The Meaning," which might end up being my favorite twelve-inch by them. Bought this at Fat Beats when it dropped, back in 97 I think. Then you got an off-kilter Daedelus instrumental, and some People Under the Stairs, before some super-underground Roots white label heat. (Did this ever come out officially?) I'm sure by now you can tell the vibe I'm on here...next is one of my favorite Mumbles beats, followed by the slept-on All Natural record "Ill Advisory" featuring Juice, discussing why you don't want to mess with Chicago emcees, years before Kanye. Then just to flip it up, I dropped some UK material - Lewis Parker's "101 Pianos," with some Herbaliser basslines and What What rhymes. But possibly my favorite record on this mix is "Official Members," a serious classic Emerald City piece from the "14 Fathoms Deep" compilation by Mad Fanatic ft. Rag Chyld. The concluding record is an instrumental from Madlib's underrated cousin, Kankick.
Last thing I want to say, in regards to the two messages on the tape, is big shouts out to Gabe and Sara for trying to hook up a donut fiend. I had totally forgotten this happening - good looking out! And shouts to Ani for the cover photo - the best donuts reside out west.

Public Service Announcement: Twitter with Caution

This is not an anti-Twitter rant. Instead, I'd consider it some strongly suggested recommendations for all deejays who use this social networking tool. Most deejays use Twitter in a perfectly tolerable manner by using it as a way to promote mixes, gigs, and witty humor. Other deejays have clear cases of diarrhea of the thumb. Various deejays have gone Tom Cruise on us. We love them as deejays, but once they start showing their true selves they become more annoying than a poor wifi connection. Unlike Tom Cruise, almost all of our favorite deejays don't have a premier public relations staff to clean-up their messes. That's what I'm here for. Below, is a set of observations and rules that could help many of our favorite deejays save themselves from themselves.

1. There are limits to self promotion. We all understand that Twitter is a tool primarily used for self promotion, but a little modesty PLEASE! Want to tweet where you'll be spinning next? Cool. Want to re-tweet where you'll be spinning next every hour on the hour? Still Cool (I guess) Want to tweet your latest mix? Please do. Want to re-tweet your latest mix everyday for 6 months? That's cool too. Want to tell the twitter world how you "rocked _________(insert your favorite city here)" after every single gig? Get the f*ck outta here! We get it, your the greatest deejay since sliced bread. Is it really necessary to tell us over and over again? Want to know who's especially guilty of this? I won't name names, but I will give you a little rhyme: Twitter dumb, twitter dee, this deejay's tendency to suck himself off is gayer than a dude wearing a pair of capris.

2. Please no philosophical quotes (especially if they're by you). I need a deejay telling me philosophy like I need a hole in my head. I want to hear your latest mix or attend your next gig. I don't want to read your poor attempt at street corner philosophy. I'll read Plato if I'm looking for something philosophical. Just because somebody read a book to you doesn't mean you have to share the one sentence that you remember with us over and over again. In the words of the late, great 2pac, "your whole style is bit!" Again, I won't name any names here, but a certain 26th letter deejay should be doing a 25 to life bid for plagiarism.

3. Tweeting, "people who are on Twitter all day are gay" is.....GAY!! If you're on Twitter all day, OWN IT! You're more stupid than stupid if you go dissing people who tweet all day when your own profile shows that you have 40,000 tweets. There is a certain deejay who I could put on blast for this, but I'll save him for later.

4. Reality Check 1,2. Probably not the best idea to start spouting off as a deejay about how you're going to take over the world when you have as many followers as I have wives. Even if I was a polygamist, you still wouldn't have enough followers to talk about taking over the world. There are a few deejays that come to mind here, but you probably haven't heard of them.

5. Who needs a Mad Rapper when we have Mad DJ's. Man, your favorite deejay is one bitter mofo. To be honest, a little bit of bitterness is entertaining to a degree. In fact, Twitter is the perfect venue for some witty, mean spirited humor. With that said, there are some deejays who come off as flat-out ugly people. One particular deejay that comes to mind spends most of his day essentially telling himself how wonderful he is, and telling everybody else how stupid they are. This particular deejay also enjoys tweeting over and over again how much he loves his kid. If you love your kid, tell your kid. Why do you feel the need to convince me how much you love your kid? I know, I know. Why do you follow this guy? Probably for the same reason I have the tendency to glance at car wrecks. Who is this deejay? Sh*t, I'm afraid to tell you all (dude seems like he's got anger issues). However, I will tell you that you probably wouldn't know his name if not for the legacy of a certain fallen hip hop great.

Some music on the spookier side for all you Halloween freaks.

Pre-internets, my dad used to have a folder of news clips he called the "Bigfoot File." Being from Oregon, the tales of these big creatures being sighted, or huge footprints being found, were common. I remember as a kid being curious about this phenomenon, much like UFOs, and reading various TIME-Life articles on Bigfoot sightings - especially the famous videotape, which has recently been formally debunked as a hoax.
Yetis, Bigfoot, Chewbacca - do they walk among us? These days, I'm not really trying to find out. But it's October, and while I'm not a big Halloween person, I figured I'd try something conceptual and somewhat thematic this month. Some creepy beats and breaks, and various "Sasquatch Hunters" and academics giving us the breadth of their knowledge on the creature.
This tape also marks four years of monthly mixtapes. Thanks again to everyone for their ongoing support.

Just trust me.

Threw together a little autumn mix for myself and whoever who digs it.
Mainly psych, progjazz, jazzfunk, jazzrock-ish stuff that sounds like autumn to me.
No editing, drops or effects this time. Just playing records after eachother.
This mix was made WITHOUT a compressor I usally use for my mixes, so I am not as pleased with the compression this time as I used a digital compressor and squeezed a little to hard.

Anyhow, good tunes and I think most of you will enjoy it.
