If you're a DJ, then you know that the most important pieces of vinyl that you own are your Ultimate Breaks & Beats LP's. Not every DJ was fortunate enough to be buying vinyl in the early 80's, nor are they all wealthy enough to afford original pressings of the vinyl breaks that your favorite producer made infamous. That's why the UBB series has always been considered an "acceptable" form of cheating when it comes to break collections (don't crucify me break purists). I won't front, I don't own an original copy of The Incredible Bongo Band's classic "Apache" break. However, I do own 4 copies of Ultimate Beats & Breaks Vol. 3 (which has the Apache break). So sit back and enjoy what I consider to be one of my favorite mixes in recent memory.I know uploading this mix may break the heart of a certain DJ from Harlem. Sorry buddy...

You can't really hate on UBB without it many of these breaks would have been lost forever.Most of the orgial hip hop deejays stopped spinning in the late 80's and the ones still deejaying weren't playing breaks from the 70's. Back in 94 Rob One for me was the first DJ I know of who spun an all breaks set. I've been deejaying since 1985 and I don't remember anyone playing all breaks set before 93.
it sure does... I think he miss volume 26... and it sounds way too clean too if you know what I mean... The mix is dope though, my peeps in n.y. have been wanting a mix like this for a long time. I still can't figure out where you find this stuff
I just popped this in today and I am impressed!! You know being an m.c. from back in the day I was ready to drop something when I was hearing them familiar breaks I used to rock off of, then I wanted to hype the DJ up, then finally I was taken back to my Dj days with some favorites like Sing Sing, Amen Brother, Apache, To Be Real,Let's Dance, etc. I only wish they would hold the breaks longer but it's all good I got enough!! He did well!! Don't get me wrong I still like the Kid Capri, Roc Raida, Mr. Sinstar,and a few others breaks cut right in a good order is always my type of stuff!!!Thanks
hey olskool have you heard the lessons by double dee and steinski? those dudes mix the breaks like back in the days because they were actually recored in the 80's on the disco net label. you should check for it
