The Wedding Mixer Vol. 2 - Mixed by DJ Rhettmatic

Man, I wish Rhettmatic had a birthday every week. Dude has released 5 quality mixes in the last few weeks to celebrate his 45th birthday. Description of the mix and part 2 after the jump.

Peace Everyone,

In honor of my birthday (May 10th), today I wanted to share some mixes to the public and I wanted to do something special by finally sharing The Wedding Mixer Vol. 2 Mix CD to you.

If you know the history of the original "Wedding Mixer" mixtape, it came out in 2002. This past February of 2014, Valentines' Day, I released a follow up to the original, Volume 2 as a special limited edition double disc mix cd....I did this because of a demand for me to do a sequel (as well as the insistence from Randall Rufino from Mixcrate). I even threw an event to celebrate the release of the mix cd (S/O to Asad & Ryan of Footlong Development).

This is Disc 1 to The Wedding Mixer Volume 2 Mix CD. On this particular CD, I actually put together a classic mix of Funk & Soul featuring artists like Parlament, Zapp, Stevie Wonder, Zapp, Kool & The Gang, & Michael Jackson....put together, Beat Junkie Style!

So this is my way to celebrate my birthday, to be thankful that I get to live another day, & to thank everyone...friends, family, fans, & associates...with this special mix...Enjoy!

To still purchase the Limited Edition Double Disc Mix Cd, you can get it at beatjunkies.storenvy.com/collections/…-disc-mix-cd

Very hesitate to listen these mixes. I wasn't fan of Vol 1. after listening all other Rhettmatic mixes. Listening to vol 1 two years ago was let down, not what I expected.

Viewing the tracklist volume 2 and seeing the same old radio hits has feeling this nothing more than nostalgia "throwback" mix. With so much great released between 70's to present why limit a mix to radio hits everyone has heard million times before? Why not dig deeper and throw in many lesser known album cuts and forgotten lesser known hits? Other than "Killer Groove - Formula V" Rhettmatic is spinning a set any hole-in-wall-dive bar DJ plays. I expect more from a deejay that inspired many to become deejays.

I'll probably just download for my collection and listen to this in future sometime.

I hear ya, but you have to remember it's called "Wedding Mixer." By definition, wedding songs are going to be corny otherwise nobody would dance.

these was the jams back in the day when it mostly vinyl and cassette releases
being 45 years old this takes me back to my teens and skating rinks, teen center dances, loosing my virginity, buying my first turntables, getting beat up in ruff neighborhoods etc etc etc....

Another dope mix by Rhettmatic!!. Disc 2 contains many of the New wave tunes that I enjoyed as a youngster but kept it to myself, definitely ordering this one. Props Pipo!!!

I think you're missing the point! lol
