Below is JS-1's description of the mix. This is part 2 of my original samples n breaks mix that i did on Muggs' & Mr Choc's West Wing show on Shady 45 for Sirius/XM satellite radio. We were in Cali recording an album, i basically woke up, wake-n-bake and jumped into a 2 hour breaks set with no headphones... The part 1 is also available for download below. Great read for a Sunday morning. I'm sure most of you will critique the list to no end. But, I'll tell you this... I've gone the last 6 weeks without my turntables because I had to pack everything up to show and sell my condo. Being without my tables for the last 6 weeks has been like living without a piece of my soul. Little inspiration, little creativity, everything has just felt very gray. Watching Alchemist v. Just Blaze Soundclash, $25 (I think). Throwing back a nice imported beer while watching Alchemist v. Just Blaze, $5. Leaving a tip for the restroom attendant so not to feel uncomfortable when you come back to relieve yourself again one hour later, $1. Listening to the guy with the camera rapping along to "Tick Tock" with a heavy french accent, priceless.

Original post below.Even though he is well known for rocking the parties of your favorite hip hop moguls, the diabolical one is better known for having records, than he is known for mixing them. With all that said, Biz does his thing on this mix. Obviously, the song selection is air tight, but the real show is how Biz blends together an assortment of Blue Note classics. I'll admit that I slept on this mix because I did not expect much out of Biz Markie. Much to my pleasant surprise, Biz' mixing skills are at center stage with him rocking doubles so all the naysayers (like myself) know that he's nice on the 1's and 2's, but not too much double rocking so that you are not overly annoyed with the same break over and over again.

If I ruled the world I would have enough money to keep J.Rocc on the Pipo payroll to deejay at the crib every Friday night. Saturday nights would be followed by Jazzy Jeff, while Sunday nights would be reserved for the cool-out and DJ Spinna. While I'm in the business of ruling the world, I'd also use my power to commission the writers from the Sopranos and The Wire to write new episodes that would air on Wednesday and Thursday nights. What about Monday and Tuesday nights? Well, somebody has got to pay for all of this. Those would be work nights.
