Another edition of re-post Friday. If you didn't get it the first time around, here ya go.

"If you enjoyed this mix (which many of you did), you'll love DJ Platurn's "Best Of A Tribe Called Quest." Platurn uses the same formula as he mixes all your favorite breaks from ATCQ."

The best is always saved for last. One more Michael Jackson tribute by the don dadda of deejays. And no, this isn't the same zip file posted on all the other sites. I consolidated all 49 tracks into one big track so the mix is heard the way it was intended to be.

Being 31, I always enjoy seeing examples of hip hoppers aging gracefully. This is a great interview of Masta Ace where Coach Ace discusses his big break and coaching football in the local neighborhood.

Wow! This is a very musical tribute to Raida from the Beat Junkies.

By far, one of the better Roc Raida tribute sets I've seen. Not only is the set excellent, but Craze's movements behind the tables are very Raida'esque

He may not be the definition of "hip hop," but homeboy's drum machine collection is worth a look.

The last few months the World Famous Wake-Up Show has been featuring some guest deejays performing tribute mega-mixes of legendary hip hop acts. All of the mixes have been straight fire. I've tried to locate these mixes on the web to no avail. Until yesterday, where I noticed that my man Dynamic Hamza had tracked down a couple of these mixes. The mixes were originally posted on DJ Raichous's own blog, but now....let the proliferation begin.

Since so many of you enjoyed the original Feeling Good mix, I thought you'd like to hear the sequel. Below is Cosmo Baker's description of the mix.

"This mix is the sequel to my early summer mix 'Feeling Good.' In that mix I tried to capture, using songs that I love and that have a very special meaning to me, a certain feeling that I equate with the beginning of summer. There's a certain energy and electricity that is about during the first few weeks of the season, when everything seems alive and in it's right place.

For this mix I wanted to try and capture the stillness of summer, when the air is hot and the days are long, and time seems to be moving at a slower pace than normal. This is a companion piece to 'Feeling Good' but it takes a different direction and deals with another type of - but no less intense - energy."

So you think you can deejay, huh. Well, can you mix and rap at the same time? Edan can.

This mix definitely got slept-on the first time around. So, let's give it a second try. Original post below.

For those of you who like obscure funk and soul records, this mix is for you. Boca 45 mixes together an all 45 mix with an array of funk and soul that will make all you record nerds say "hooo!" Have a wonderful week.

Very funny video of J-Zone talking about the quality of music found on tapes (9 out of 10 tapes according to him). The line "ipods are for women at the gym doing cardio" alone makes the video worth watching.

Here is the description of the mix from the man himself.

"Often times I'll wake up in a certain mood and I'll want to make a mix that will accompany me during the day. This is how the first "Love Break" came about - just a mix for me to listen to in my car during a road trip. Anyway, a few weeks ago, I woke up and it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the temperature was just right. It made me think of a certain sound that just means "spring/summer" to me, so before I headed out I made this mix to listen to while I ran around New York. There's nothing like New York in the springtime."

No, I haven't sold my soul to the devil. In fact, I am only doing this out of love for all of you. I am only making preparations for the unlikely event that this site ever gets shut down. In recent weeks, I have seen some other blogs get shutdown. I don't expect it to happen, I have no reason to think it will happen, I don't even think I've done anything to warrant it to happen, but if it does happen, just go to my twitter account and "emergency" information will be supplied there. Personally, I don't think that this blog has stepped over some of the unspoken "lines" that other blogs have. But, you never know. I know many of you think twitter is lame (I do too), but I think this would be the best way to get into contact with all of you if the bomb is ever dropped. So, please subscribe here. Other than that, don't ever expect me to tweet about anything other than where to download your favorite mixes. See the post below to get back to the regularly scheduled program.

No better way to start the week than with some Brazilian gems to make you forget it's Monday. Dope music + dope mixing = worth your time. On a side note, the BCS is the biggest crock of sh*t of all time. And believe me, I've seen some crocks of sh*t.

Is this a record store, or is this a record store? Good thing I don't have one of these close to where I live. Otherwise, I'd be broke, my wife would leave me, and I'd only have Jerry to console me. For all you vinyl heads, watch and drool.

This week's re-post consists of one of the better mixed Premier mixes that I've heard. Below is the original post with all the details.

No better way to start off the week than with an all Primo mix, mixed by DJ PPP..Premier himself. The mix primarily consists of slept-on Premier joints that are not the usual suspects when one thinks of Primo's vast catalog of classics. On the mixing side of things, Premier does himself some justice on this one because you will not hear songs abruptly scratched-in to ruin the whole rhythm of the mix. Rather, Primo took his time mixing his own music by blending together all the songs quite nicely with some double-rocking here and there.

I'm not sure if this mix got the love that I think it deserves. So, here it is on a re-post Friday. Below is the original post.

Solid mix of breaks used by DJ Shadow. Don't expect DJ Revolution style mixing on this one. Instead, sit back and enjoy obscure Shadow break after Shadow break tastefully mixed together by Mr. Fraykerbreaks himself. The quality of music found in this mix is sure to cheer up any deejay who has got a case of the Mondays. So sit back, put on the headphones, close your eyes, and listen to the music and before you know it, it will be Friday afternoon. Well, not really. But, at least you'll be one hour closer to lunch.

After watching these videos I have two things to say: 1. God damn A-trak is nice on them wheels! 2. Got to love that girl who probably pushed and shoved her way to the front to be right in front of the turntables, only so that she can get on her blackberry to text her friends all about it (all the while bobbing her head to the beat). That girl definitely gets the gas face!!

Here is what J. Rocc had to say about this mini-mix:

"It's been a tough one this year. There's not really more that I can say than that. I made a mix of some music I like to listen to help take some of the pain away. This mix is not your usual mix of treats. These all have some type of meaning to me. If your expecting a bunch of song you know and love this isn't for you. If you looking for something to help you get over some thangs or even just vibe out to. This is for you. "
