I don't think the theme was lifted. I think Blue Note hired deejays such as Lord Finesse, Muro, Markie, J. Rocc and a few others to mix the catalog. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that was the case.

that was one of the MAJOR problems i had with these tapes, was the over the top shout out! like every 20 seconds. still if thats all i have to complain about. life is good

ive got this one and biz's. do you have pete rock's? i used top have a copy but a friend "lifted" it from my place.

this sounds more like a shout out mixtape with jazz in the background...still love it tho...
