Chris Jones Megamix - Mixed by Pipomixes

This mix was recorded using 3 turntables, 1 mixer, and a SP-404.It was recorded in 2 takes.I mixed the instrumentals in the first take and went back with the SP-404 adding vocal drops in the second take. Why is the mix so short?Because that's about as long as I could go with 3 turntables before it sounded like a complete train wreck. As with all of my mixes, quite a bit of time and effort was put into crafting this mix.I hope you all enjoy it.

Really liking the mix pipo. Great track selection of course, but more important is i liked how you spliced them all together and matched them up. Really good mood too. nice one!

I think the mix would be even better though if you played out some accapellas - nas over gangstarr or jeru over group home, whatever...

damn pipo you need to stop making so many quality mixes, the bar is being set too high! this is one of the "featured dj mixes" on mixcrate right now in case you didnt know, and its well deserving of the publicity. there are a million nice things i want to say right now about this mix, and your site in general considering I downloaded a few jazz mixes that I slept on (space is a place 1 and 2 by the gaff, north to south by case bloom and dj nes's dirty water jazz) that i have been jamming to on repeat lately. all compliments aside, I have a request, i was wondering if you could post a mix with some new orleans influence to it. I have been watching the HBO show Treme a lot lately (you should check it out if you havent already) and it features a lot of new orleans music on it and I was hoping to find a mix to listen to on the long drive im taking tomorrow up to my cabin with some new orleans shit on it but I couldnt really find anything on here or mixcrate so I was hoping maybe you could hook me up with something to get me through the ride. even if you cant i think i can make it with the awesome jazz mixes ive copped here over the last few days as well as this mix, but something new would be appreciated because i've listened to this, dirty water jazz, and north to south at least 2 times each over the past 3 days. anyway, i always feel obligated to tell you how much i love your shit because i feel like if i didnt you might stop making all this great music and id be stuck listening to some terrible shit opposed to all the great music you put on the table everyday. anyway sorry im ranting, bottom line is youre a god amongst men (or bloggers at least)

Thank you to everybody for the supportive comments. Yes, the comments (in general, not just on my mixes) to keep me going on the blog front. This is 100% a labor of love. There are about 2,500 of you who check the blog on the daily and everything is done to keep you all going, keep myself going, and to keep this culture of quality music alive.

RLFM,

I'm also a huge Treme fan! Unfortunately, I'm not an expert in the NOLA music scene. I'll do some research and share any gems that I find with you.

Really? w/ the sticky for that long? Being forced to scroll down every day I check the site is getting annoying!!

Wow! That sounds horrible. It must be absolutely terrible to have to scroll down 2 inches to download another free mix that is posted everyday. The horror. You are entitled to your opinion, but at least attach a name to it if you are going to express one that attacks the host of a site you clearly enjoy.

Thank you,

Management
