Jeru Da Damaja MC Battle

I've never been the biggest fan of MC battles, scratch battles, or really any kind of a battle. For me, it's always been like boxing. The best boxing fights have always been in the movies and the real thing just can't compare. With all that said, I found this video while doing some random youtubing the other night and thought it was absolutely hilarious. I think the battle is from the late 90's/early 2000's. MC Starr (pretty much an Eminem clone) starts dissing Jeru pretty good. As I'm watching Jeru get dissed pretty good I'm feeling like I'm watching Jordan stumble over himself in a Wizard jersey all over again. I'm just thinking to myself: "Ah man, how the mighty have fallen. I don't think my man Jeru can defend himself here. Please don't tell me this is how it ends. Don't let some no name MC do Jeru like this." Just as all hope is lost, Jeru grabs the microphone, mumbles a few week bars, and then..........(Watch the entire video to see)

Pipo, really? Jeru killed him? I think this battle sucked, and if anyone got anyone sadly enough it may have been the white cat if not maybe a tie. You honestly think those bars Jeru spit killed the kid? Wow....

I just thought that the kid got Jeru pretty good on "dropped" from Gang Starr foundation line and the "my sister sold more lemonades" than you sold albums line. Because of that, I was pleasantly surprised by Jeru's impromptu responses to those lines that dug into him a little bit. Maybe I overstated it a bit, but I enjoyed the clip anyway

That's the thing about battles - it makes people battle! Anyway - definitely understand Pipo saying about impromptu responses - that shows the essence of battle and Jeru didn't fail here for sure and defended himself 100%... Props to Jeru and Pipo, not to the clone mc's or Anonymus bloggers like that guy (and me in this case:)...
P.S.
Jeru killed him...

Believe me I love Jeru and it was some clever shit, I guess I'm looking @ battling much different from the MC individually and their work. For example, some of the best battle MC's are nothing in the grand scheme......sort of like streetball hoop players being only that and not good enough for the 'professional' level. Don't get it twisted, Jeru is dope and always been a favorite MC of mine, just trying to be subjective. Either way a rare quality clip of a battle via youtube where you can actually hear it

It's just a couple bars. Both emcees did their thing. And they showed respect for each other at the end. Sometimes people take battling too seriously.
