Syndromes (Remix) - Mixed by J. Rocc

This is a "remixed," condensed version of the Syndromes mix I'm sure 99% of you have heard and played until pop.  I don't know if it's because I haven't heard the Syndromes mix in a few years or because this shortened edited version packs a more potent punch, but I think I enjoyed this version more than either Syndromes or Syndromes 2.  That's not the reason why I'm posting this mix though.  Apparently, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson is going to recreate the Syndromes mix with a live orchestra here in L.A. on November 3rd.  Ferguson's Suite for Ma Dukes was probably the last time my picky self left a musical event thoroughly satisfied so I encourage all of you in the area to attend if possible.  More information HERE.

Correction: The Mixtape Council has determined that this is Side B of J. Rocc's Syndromes Remix mix, not a new 2013 remixed version.  For those keeping score at home, there are three Syndromes mixes: Syndromes, Syndromes Remix, and Syndromes 2.

The naming on this will add plenty of confusion down the line. So far there's the original, which J.Rocc barely released in 1996 (and which has not made the internet rounds). Then he did a "Syndromes Remix", which was a remixing of the 1996 mix. Then he did "Syndromes 2" in 2005. And now he's releasing "Syndromes (Remix)", which appears to be yet another reworking of the original 1996 mix.

On a side note, has anyone ever heard this J.Rocc & Beat Junkies mix from 1995?...

I agree. First, I had no idea that the first Syndromes (Remix) wasn't the original. I always thought I had heard the original. So if I've got this right, there are 4 different Syndromes mixes; Syndromes, Syndromes Remix, Syndromes 2, and Syndromes Remix (2013). If a self-confessed J. Rocc Stan can't get it right, how's the average listener supposed to know the difference. lol

And no, I've never heard/seen the Thick Rhymes mix.

I've not had a proper listen but this sounds like side 2 of the Syndromes Remix tape from 2001.

Yeah, it's side 2 from what I hear also.

I think you guys are right. My original post was under the pretense that Syndromes Remix was the original version. I had no idea until Eric posted that there is another, original Syndromes that I haven't heard.

I think the original Syndromes does exist on the net somewhere. Fairly sure I got a copy somewhere. Havent heard this latest one yet but look fwd to it. The Syndromes Remix is probably my favourite mix of all time.
I may have Thick Rhymes too, I'd have to dig in the archives.
Peace,
Deathhop.

I haven't heard any J.Rocc Hip Hop mixes older than Walkman Rotation from 1998. So that would be a trip to hear a 1995 J.Rocc Hip Hop mix.

I take that back. I think the "Turntable Language" mix is also from 1995. Still would be interesting though.

Syndromes 2 might be my favourite j.Rocc mix. Tin Tin Deo still gets me high.

hey Daps, my thoughts exactly. the transition into it is NICE. still looking for that dusty Junior Mance album in my digging escapades. when i give up the decks, i would love to play piano the way its played on Tin Tin Deo.

I might have some old mixes from 96 when J would occasionally come on the Baka Boyz show after midnight and spin.. I have to go through about 100 non-labeled TDK's to find them though, lol.

hey Anonymous, I haven't managed to track that Junior Mance down either! Syndromes 2 introduced me to "Can We Pretend" too, so it gets a place at the top of the pile just for that.
