I'm posting this for three reasons. 1. Soulection Radio really seems to have its finger on the pulse of the top shelf "beat" music, so I recommend listening if you're interested (like I am) in discovering all the flavas within this subgenre of music. 2. The Ta-Ku interview is very interesting in terms of shedding light on how all of these bedroom beatmakers have used to social media to get their music heard and propel music careers in some cases. 3. The show played Ruk N' Wiz's "A Journey Through Samples" mix as the bed of the interview and the mix is fire. So much so, I found myself listening to the mix far more so than the interview. The mix can be heard HERE. Interview begins at the 1:24:25 mark.
This one is such an inspiring session from start to finish for so many reasons... hmm well it was the first time I did my show live from Rinse FM in London! It felt good to be back in the studio. We were fresh out of a sold out XOYO show from the night before w/ the announcement/debut of our latest signee @samgellaitry. Feeling overwhelmed.
Ta-ku and I hung out recently when he was in Los Angeles for a couple of days and were able to catch up on life, music, photography (shouts to Eric Coleman / Mochilla), eat tacos, sushi, chill with Esta, Carmack, Mike Gao and play music. I'll never forget this. Before we knew it Ta-ku did a 30 minute set and sat down with me to and talk about everything from his travels, latest business ventures, Artists Envy, Songs To Make Up To, his passion for Men's Grooming, Photography, and much more. Ta-ku is one of the realest and most down to earth people you'll ever meet, he's definitely family.
Enjoy and spread this to your friends and fam. Next week we return with a special set + Interview from Sam Gellaitry.
