NY Times: A Turntable Reborn Turns Its Back on Its Hip-Hop Legacy
I still use my original pair of Technic 1200s that my dad bought for me almost 25 years ago, but I always have the fear that they'll eventually breakdown on me (especially with Lil Mixes playing with them more and more). I have no idea what the new industry standard is for when the eventual day comes where I need a replacement. Stanton, Pioneer? I get all anxious inside just thinking about it.
Back to the article at hand. This NYT article goes over how Panasonic (Technic's parent company) decided to make and market the regeneration of Techs to audiofiles, and not hip hop deejays. Nothing really new or surprising here, but a worthwhile read anyway. Article can be read HERE.
