Blunted Radio: Stonesthrow Megamix

pipomixes · Blunted Radio (Stones Throw Mix)

Megamix 1/2 of the Blunted Radio series. My favorite radio mix shows were Eazy-E’s Ruthless Radio, Soul Assassins Radio, Friday Night Flavas, (its successor) Fantastik 4our Show, and J. Rocc’s Adventures in Stereo (kinda sorta a successor to the Fantastik 4our Show). I used to love rolling up a couple blunts and just zoning out to the selections and mixing while listening to these weekly shows. For me, this weekly ritual was a little slice of heaven. Back then I would dream of delivering a guest set. Those dreams faded as all of these shows left the airwaves. However, this dream deferred crusted over and delivered a mix idea (which are harder and harder to think of with every mix). The guest mix that was never heard is here. Actually, it’s two mixes. Originally one mix seamlessly blending two, but everybody is too ADD these days to listen to anything that long so I broke it up into two mixes. The first mix is a Sun Ra inspired megamix. The second mix is a Stonesthrow megamix incorporating a lot of their left field releases blended with a few of their classics. Both mixes are filled with odes and drops from all the radio shows creating one big, stoned-out, guest megamix that never was.
