The Madlib Tapes - Mixed by DJ Hudson

 I'm a HUGE Madlib nerd, but I recognized a very small percentage of the beats on this mix. In addition to the exclusivity of the Madlib beats, the mix is exquisitely done. Seamless transitions while still keep that stoney Madlib vibe. Highly Recommended.

Sometimes I forget how good DJ Hudson's mixes are.

Roy Ayers is doing shows in Europe next month (details here http://www.songkick.com/artists/50734...) and that led me to dig out some hip hop tracks that used Roy Ayers samples - X Clan, Junior MAFIA, Beatnuts, Tribe Called Quest and more - plus a few from Roy himself. This mix is all live so it may feature some ghetto rubs.

Smootherness (All Vinyl Mix) - Mixed by DJ Hudson

Been a minute since I last heard a mix from blog favorite, DJ Hudson.  As with all Hudson mixes, expect top notch selections and seamless mixing.

I recently DJ'ed at South Nottingham Soul Society's family all dayer, which was really good (thanks for having us over Mouse!), and I decided to do a mix with what was in my record bag that day. All types of mellow soul to kick back to.

Hudson's House Breaks - Mixed by DJ Hudson

I'm not the biggest fan of House music, but Hudson did the breaks mix proper. Highly Recommended.

After School Special - Mixed by DJ Hudson

This is one of those mixes that you can file away as one of those mixes I wish I made but didn't. In other words, Highly Recommended.

This is something I've been meaning to do for a while - a mix of breaks and bits from children's records. No track list I'm afraid but it includes records sampled by De La Soul, MF Doom, Ultramagnetic MCs, Eric B and Rakim, Beatnuts, Prince Paul, DJ Shadow and some others.

I don't really know if this works or if it's unlistenable toot - let me know what you think.

Wild Bunch Sound - Mixed by DJ Hudson

This mix is too good to post on a Saturday.  Not that I blame you all for actually getting away from your computers and living life.  But, I couldn't wait to post this mix.  This is a collection of records sampled or covered by Massive Attack from their first three LPs and the singles of that time. I like buying and listening to old records and a lot of them have nice bits that have been sampled on hip hop records so here's a mix I did one day which has a lot of these nice bits that have been used (along with some nice bits that haven't been used but could be).
