The ‘Twelve 12s’ series is back with our 48th installment once again and another one from myself – Superix with an ALL Vinyl ALL live Beatnuts production special!
‘The Beatnuts are unquestionably one of the greatest production outfits in hip hop that we’ve ever known and also one of my own personal favorite groups.  Over the years, they have not only worked as producers & remix specialists for some of hip hops elite artists – they also established themselves as great artists in their own right making some truly bonafide classic albums & EPs, plus a ton of great instrumental projects on the side. I’ve put together some of my personal favorites here from mostly their earlier years, that both includes their solo records and a few lesser known killer remixes. Hope you enjoy the mix!’

The next few weeks are gonna create hella memories and in honour of that, Superix has rewound to one of his favourite times in both Olympic and musical history with ‘Dreams Of 1992′. As you can see, the cover pretty much explains all you need to know about the incredible music that soundtracked the year that The Dream Team went to Barcelona – 20 years ago. From Mary J. Blige to Naughty By Nature to Gang Starr to Michael Jackson to Jodeci to Pete Rock & CL Smooth and the rest, this was the Hip-Hop and RnB Dream Team of the age and these are just some of the tracks that defined 1992, a truly amazing year in music!

Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate! - Mixed by DJ Superix (part 1)

If you're a DJ, then you know that the most important pieces of vinyl that you own are your Ultimate Breaks & Beats LP's. Not every DJ was fortunate enough to be buying vinyl in the early 80's, nor are they all wealthy enough to afford original pressings of the vinyl breaks that your favorite producer made infamous. That's why the UBB series has always been considered an "acceptable" form of cheating when it comes to break collections (don't crucify me break purists). I won't front, I don't own an original copy of The Incredible Bongo Band's classic "Apache" break. However, I do own 4 copies of Ultimate Beats & Breaks Vol. 3 (which has the Apache break). So sit back and enjoy what I consider to be one of my favorite mixes in recent memory.

I know uploading this mix may break the heart of a certain DJ from Harlem. Sorry buddy...
