Casino - Mixed by Just Blaze & DJ Soul
Top shelf mix of all sorts of random, classic joints that you probably haven't heard nor played in a while. Not sure why the mix is titled "Casino," but that really doesn't matter. Enjoy.
Gaslamp Killer and Just Blaze: Live 2x4 Set (kind of) at SXSW
Let me first say that this is a very high quality 2x4 set from Gaslamp Killer and Just Blaze. Then, let me say that I'm a fan of Just Blaze's production. With that said, why does Just Blaze use CDJs? I'll admit, he's kind of nice on them thangs. But, why does a dude who has a massive vinyl collection and is knee deep in vinyl culture, use CDJs as his preferred instrument? Look, I'm not a CDJ hater per say. Or at least, I'm not as big of a hater as I was in the late 90's. Fortunately for CDJs worldwide, the disgrace of the ever growing computer deejay has catapulted the CDJ to a level of respectability never before seen. So, I'm not hatin' for the sake of hating. I'm more like wondering. Why buy all those records and spin CDs? Why not then immerse yourself into CDs and get featured in Disc Diggers instead of Crate Diggers?
Just Blaze Discusses DJ Styles
When asked to give advice to aspiring producers Just Blaze says the best tip he can give them is to tell them to learn how to deejay. While describing his advice, Just Blaze basically summarizes all the attributes of being a deejay (toward the latter half of the interview).

90's Flava Vol. 1 - Mixed by Just Blaze
I should have figured that Just Blaze knows how to get down on the 1's and 2's because behind every great producer, is a deejay. I recently spent 16 hours on a plane with only a vibe magazine and my wife's ipod to pass the time. I know, I know, dumb move. As I was beginning to go insane I started to frantically search through my wife's ipod to see if she had any music on there that was somewhat listenable. Fortunately, I left this mix on her ipod because this was the only thing I could listen to to pass the time. When all was said and done, I think I listened to this mix 6 or 7 times. Needless to say, I played this mix out to the nth degree. So the moral of the story is to listen to this mix because it's rock solid, but never fly for 16 hours without massive reading material and your entire music collection.1. Main Source - Atom
