Crate Diggers: DJ Eclipse

I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but I'll post it anyway in case anybody hasn't. I think this is my favorite episode to date because it shows a side of record collecting that I think many of you can identify with. You know, the part of crate diggin' where stacks of records are right next to baby strollers and home studios have to make room for the baby's nursery. Speaking of which. How does that work? 90% of my turntable time occurs while my baby is sleeping. So I'm trying to figure out how Eclipse gets into his studio when it's located in the same room where the baby sleeps. Why not move the studio to the master bedroom or living room for that matter? In a related note, if a Mrs. Eclipse exists, there should be a special place in heaven for her for allowing so many records in her apartment. On the other hand, I'm going to bet that Mrs. Eclipse is the reason why the studio is in the baby's room and not the master bedroom. If that's the case, never mind about that whole special place in heaven crap.

The Halftime Show (Roc Raida Tribute) - Mixed by DJ Eclipse

Here is what Eclipse had to say about the show.

"On Sunday night I threw together a short Roc Raida tribute set at the beginning of my Sirius show. On Monday night Premier and I held our monthly 'Like They Used To Say' party at APT which we dedicated to Roc Raida and were able to raise over $4,000 for his family. On Wednesday night I wanted to do a proper tribute show so I contemplated what to do. As I compiled every song I could that Raida was featured on (production or scratches) I thought it would be better to reach out to his friends and get their take on what the man meant to them. What started out as a dozen or so people that I intended to talk to snowballed into phone call after phone call of friends wanting to share stories. Please forgive me if I left out someone's name (or misspelled) in this email, but following is a list of who called or showed up at the station (no particular order)."

Ecko Unlimited Mixtape - Mixed by DJ Eclipse

Ecko Unlimited put this mixtape out back in 1997 to promote the clothing line. The mix is a high quality blend of various underground gems from back in 97. BTW, does anybody know who mixed this? If Mark Ecko is the one behind the wheels, my respect for him just went up ten fold (and it was already high to begin with).
